Hi! My name is Laura Henry (Ms. Henry) and I have been at Olson since the fall of 2014. I am originally from Louisville, Kentucky and graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, MN. I recently finished my English as a Second Language (ESL) license at Augsburg University in Minneapolis. For the past 5 years I have taught 6th-grade Minnesota Studies. This year I am excited to start a new position as an ESL teacher and Differentiation Specialist.

As an ESL teacher, I will push-in to one 6th-grade Core class and will also teach a 6th-grade Explore class.

As Differentiation Specialist, I will support 6th-8th grade teachers in making their classes challenging and supportive environments for all students. I also hope to work one-on-one and with small groups of students as much as possible!

In addition to teaching, I co-lead our school's Panther Pride Alliance with Ms. Gulenchyn and Mr. Lulofs. Outside of school, I like to read, run, and rock climb!

I am lucky to teach at Olson with so many committed and hard-working staff, and I love building relationships with students and families throughout the school year. The best way to reach me is through e-mail - Laura.Henry@mpls.k12.mn.us. You can also reach me through the main office - 612-668-1640.
