Welcome to Olson U! My name is Laura Henry (Ms. Henry), and I have been teaching at Olson since the fall of 2014. I am originally from Louisville, Kentucky and went to Carleton College in Northfield (Minnesota). I recently earned my ESL License from Augsburg University in Minneapolis. For the past 5 years, I taught 6th-grade Minnesota Studies. This year, I will be teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) and serving in a new role as Olson's Differentiation Specialist.

For ESL, I will support students in their 6th-grade Science and ELA (English/Language Arts) Core classes. I will also teach a 6th-grade ESL Explore class.

For my role as Differentiation Specialist, I will help teachers use strategies in their classrooms to make sure that students of all levels are challenged and engaged.

I am excited for the new school year and am lucky to teach at Olson with so many dedicated and hard-working staff! I love building relationships with students and families throughout the school year. The best way to reach me is through e-mail - Laura.Henry@mpls.k12.mn.us. You can also call/leave a voicemail for me through the main office - 612-668-1640. I will be sharing Rooms 112 and 313.
