My name is Latiesha Bogar and I have been in Minneapolis public school district for 18 years. I started off as support staff working in the classrooms and supporting student’s academic growth and achievement. Then I was a middle school counselor at Jefferson community school and then a counselor at Patrick Henry High school supporting students in social emotional learning, academic achievement and college and career readiness. My current roll was as a district lead counselor for 9th grade on track programming under ALC and Extended Learning. Working with Teaching and learning, school improvement teams and all MPS high schools to ensure our students were on track for graduation. I have also worked Fast Track scholars for the past 3 years, supporting 8th grade transition into high school.

I received my master’s in Educational Leadership through Concordia University, then went on to Adler Graduate school of psychology where I received my school counseling licenses and license for clinical and mental health (LPCC). I then returned to Concordia university where I received my Admin License.

I am more than excited to be the assistant principal at Olson and to be a part of a school that believes in building a strong school community, building positive relationships with students and families and values student growth and academic achievement. I believe when working collaboratively, we can continue to promote a positive school culture and climate where students are inspired to be engaged, have a positive attitude towards learning and develop strong academic and social skills that encourages them to be lifelong learners.
