Please welcome our newest teacher.

My name is Marques Walker, and I am the new BLACK Culture Teacher at Olson Middle School. I am a product of Minneapolis Public Schools and a 2005 graduate of Minneapolis North Community High School. I have been working in Minneapolis Public schools for nine years. I spent six years at Roosevelt High School as a Behavior Dean. In the last three years, I've been working with the Office of Black Male Student Achievement teaching the BLACK Culture class at North High School, Franklin Middle school, and Bethune Elementary school.

My goal is to help each King that is in my class define success for themselves. I want them to be able to advocate and understand what success looks like through their lense. I also pride myself on building positive relationships with every scholar that I serve daily; instead, they are in my class or not. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email.

I am looking forward to a great year at Olson Middle School. GO PANTHERS!!!
