Minneapolis Public Schools would like to invite you to be a Fast Track Scholar (FTS) this summer! This exciting program provides current 8th grade (going into 9th grade) students with the opportunity to meet new high school classmates and begin earning high school credits. Scholars will benefit from courses designed to support and accelerate their achievement of grade level academic standards in preparation for a smooth transition to high school.
Scholars meet state set criteria for Targeted Services or are invited by teacher recommendation. Scholars will earn high school credit and receive a non-weighted letter grade for successful completion of one intensive course of their choice.
The FTS program will be located at two school locations. One will be at Edison High School, 700 22nd Avenue NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418 and one at South High School, 3131 19 Avenue South, Minneapolis. FTS program dates are June 15th through July 23rd, 2020, Mondays through Thursdays. FTS program partners with Beacons/YMCA, providing Scholars with optional, exciting enrichment experiences beyond the Fast Track day.
The FTS program is free and includes breakfast, lunch, and Metro Transit Go-To cards. We will work with Scholars to determine the safest routes for commuting on the bus/light rail.
We look forward to seeing many of you at Summer 2020 FTS program.
