It is with great honor and excitement to welcome you to Olson U.   I believe it is critical to build positive relationships with students, families, and community as well as strengthening Olson’s MYP and AVID programs that are data and culturally responsive. My main goal this coming year is to support our educational professionals in engagement, positive school climate, and literacy. A strong partnership between school, home and community is a valued component of student well-being at Olson. If you have concerns about your scholar, if you want to share ideas, or you want to get involved, please do not hesitate to reach out or stop by.

I have been a Social Studies Teacher and an Academic Specialist in St. Paul Public Schools and North St. Paul-Maplewood Schools. At Robbinsdale Middle School (IB) and Fridley Middle School (IB) I was a college readiness advisor/advocate. I completed my Associate’s degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice at Iowa Central Community College. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education: Social Studies at Concordia University. My Master’s of Education is from Hamline University with a concentration on Urban Education, Bullying Prevention, and College Admissions Counseling. I completed my certificate in PK-12 Administration from the University of Minnesota.

I am originally from Shreveport, Louisiana. However, I called north Minneapolis home during high school and college. Many of my family members are part or have been a part of the Olson Middle School community. Throughout my collegiate career, I was a Track & Field All-American and NCAA Academic All-American. Sports have always been a passion of mine, extending into my professional career as a middle school Athletic Director and a coach of: football, soccer, wrestling and track & field.

Besides education, I have quite a few other interests. I love to hang out with family. I also enjoy lifting, running, watching documentaries, live music, high school sports, and trying different foods.
