Hello & Welcome to Olson Middle School! View parent resources on the parents page.
My name is Marjorie Southward. I am the Speech Language Pathologist at Olson Middle School. I have had the privilege of serving and working with the Olson staff and students since 2007. I have found that working with middle school students is something I truly enjoy. Olson students are full of life and eagerly looking into a future that has many possiblities. The ability to come along side students right where they are at and encourage them is an honor and a wonderful experience. I enjoy teaching them strategies to enhance their educational experience and life skills.
I attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. There I received a Speech Science B.A. degree and Communication Disorders M.A. degree. I currently hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Parents of students that I serve are welcome to contact me regarding your son/daughters IEP contract or any other concern you may have. You may best contact me by using my email account: marjorie.southward@mpls.k12.mn.us or if you would like to leave me a voicemail call the main line at Olson school - office: #612-668-1640.
Thank you and I look forward to meeting you here at Olson Middle School, Minneapolis, Minnesota. My room number is 213 Idenity Blvd; located on the second floor.
Do you remember when your child said his/her first word? Communication is one of life's most important skills, an area we are passionate about. As speech-language pathologists we work with children to improve their communication skills in the areas of: language, articulation, fluency, and voice.
